jubilat is excited to announce its second-ever chapbook contest! The "jubilat MAKES A CHAPBOOK CONTEST" offers University of Massachusetts Amherst undergraduates with a strong interest in writing poetry the opportunity to publish their work and participate in a public reading.
The magazine has a close bond with UMass, where jubilat was envisioned and launched twelve years ago. We look forward to forging even a stronger relationship with the university by showcasing the innovative, creative work its undergraduate writers have to offer.
About the contest:
Students can submit their manuscripts between November 15, 2012 and February 13, 2013. We are excited to partner with publishing cooperative Flying Object in Hadley, MA, who will letterpress the winning chapbook in an edition of 150. The winning poet will also receive 10 contributor copies and be invited to participate in an upcoming jubilat reading. Poet Matthea Harvey will serve as the final judge of the contest.
